7C800
ModBlox7® Open Modular Computing
The 7C800 ModBlox7® is a CPU module designed for ultra rugged industrial and railway applications. The assembly is equipped with an Intel® Atom® x6000RE (Elkhart Lake Industrial) low power System-on-Chip processor. The front panel is provided with three 2.5Gbps Ethernet connectors M12-X and RJ45, and in addition SMA antenna jacks for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth communication. DisplayPort and USB receptacles facilitate starting up and configuring the system. The 7C800 main PCB is a fully soldered card, including the system RAM, and the BGA style M.2 SSD and Wi-Fi 7 modules. The 7C800 can be used together with popular operating systems such as Windows® 11 or Linux. The CPU module supports up to eight attached ModBlox7® I/O units via USB, and provides in addition two PCI Express® lanes for higher data throughput IOU devices. Typical markets for the 7C800 ModBlox7® CPU are industrial, automation, transportation, military, avionics and others.
The 7C800 was designed according to the new PICMG® ModBlox7® standard for open modular computing. ModBlox7® is a flexible and robust computing platform for edge computing, data acquisition, control and communication. Architectures for high availability and safety are supported. ModBlox7® modules from different manufacturers are interoperable. A typical ModBlox7® system consists of a 12VDC power supply unit (PSU), a central processing unit (CPU) such as the 7C800, and several input and output units (IOU). The central processing unit is the heart of the system. For many applications, PSU and CPU are sufficient to build a complete system (ruggedized replacement for a boxed PC). The flexible ModBlox7® mechanical design allows the end user to place the system where it fits best. A ModBlox7® system can be mounted directly to the wall, or be mounted on a DIN rail, or fits as a box insert in a 19″ sub-rack.
