The SCY-BOOST is a mezzanine add-on expansion board (aka side card) for an 8HP assembly e.g. together with the SC9-TOCCATA CompactPCI® Serial CPU. Equipped with two M.2 sockets for PCIe® SSD modules up to 2280 size, the board serves as a rugged mass storage solution. In addition, frequently required classic I/O functions (RS-232, USB3, DisplayPort) are provided via front panel connectors.

The left M.2 socket allows for a PCIe® link x4 up to Gen4 and should be used with the the main NVMe® SSD. The right M.2 socket supports a PCIe® Gen3 link x1 or x2 (depends on CPU carrier card). The SCY-BOOST is a ‘short’ side card, which allows an enhanced heatsink to be mounted on the CPU carrier board, utilizing the full 8HP envelope of the card assembly.
