SQ4-AX
Chassis Health Controller • Railway Power Controller
Based on an 32-bit SoC microcontroller, the SQ4-AX CompactPCI® Serial peripheral card provides sensors for temperature, humidity, motion and acceleration (Gyro). System voltages are monitored by a precision ADC. The front panel is equipped with a group of status LEDs, two tactile switches and a buzzer. Up to three fans can be individually controlled by the SoC, and directly attached to an on[1]board connector. The microcontroller communicates with the host CPU card via backplane USB2 (Ethernet over USB) and I2 C. In addition, the front panel is equipped with a Type-C receptacle and either one of RJ45, M12-X or SMA (Wi-Fi) Ethernet connectors, for external control and programming.
For railway applications the SQ4-AX is equipped with a 1.5kV isolated 16-144VDC power control circuitry. Up to 25A can be passed through from a 3W3 D-Sub front panel connector to an on-board connector. A solid state relay is provided for power on/off. Current limiting can be controlled by means of a programmable eFuse. Both front input voltages +VIN and Ignition are permanently monitored by a precision ADC. The SQ4-AX can help to improve the system reliability dramatically, by surveillance of environment parameters, monitoring of voltages and control of the system fans. A firmware framework is available for customers, as well as turnkey project programming by EKF.
